Questions, answered.

Common questions about how Law Assist works with personal-injury firms. Don't see yours? Reach out and we'll help.

General

Do you require contracts or minimum volume?
No. There's no retainer, no monthly minimum, and no long-term commitment. You use us for one file or fifty, whenever you need us, and can pause and restart anytime without renegotiating anything.
Can we use multiple services together?
Yes. Sign-ups, demand writing, and document retrieval can run together on the same case or as separate engagements, whatever fits how your firm works. One point of contact either way.
Do you only work with personal-injury firms?
Yes. We work exclusively with PI firms, which is why our intake tools (dermatome injury maps and TBI questionnaires) and our demand process are built specifically around PI casework rather than general legal admin.
How do you fit into our workflow without us hiring or training anyone?
You send us work the way you'd hand it to a legal assistant or paralegal, and we return it in the format you use internally. There's no new software to learn and no onboarding period before we're useful.
Will Law Assist ever contact our clients directly?
Only when it's part of the service you've asked for, such as coordinating an intake sign-up, and always as an extension of your firm. We don't reach out to your clients independently or outside the scope you've set.

Pricing & Getting Started

How is pricing structured?
Everything is flat fee. No hourly billing and no surprise costs. Demand writing is priced across one of three tiers depending on the complexity of the demand. Document retrieval is a flat fee per request, based on a fee schedule we're happy to send you. New client sign-ups are a flat fee as well.
How do we get started?
Email Info@Law-Assist.com with the type of service you need help with, and we'll send you an onboarding email with next steps.

Staffing, Quality & Capacity

Will the same person handle our files each time?
Each department, sign-ups, demands, and retrievals, has its own dedicated staff. Whoever starts on your file continues with it through completion, and our process is standardized enough that any team member can step in if needed without affecting quality or consistency.
What happens if you're at capacity or unavailable?
Our operations are built to maintain a high volume of work without a drop in turnaround or quality, so this isn't something you need to plan around.
What if we're not satisfied with a file?
Any error on our end is corrected free of charge.
If we use you regularly, is there a different process after the first case?
No. Every file is held to the same KPI-driven standard from the start, so service stays consistent whether it's your first case or your fiftieth. If something is urgent, we're happy to accommodate.

Document Retrieval

How do you handle follow-ups with providers?
We own the entire back-and-forth: the initial request, every follow-up call or fax, and any additional authorization a provider requires, so your staff never has to chase a records custodian.
Will we receive updates?
Yes. You'll receive status updates as each request moves, requested, in follow-up, or received, so you always know where a file stands.
How are records delivered?
Through a secure, HIPAA-compliant link, organized and labeled so they can be dropped straight into the case file.
Do you retrieve from all providers?
We work with medical providers, government agencies, employers, insurers, and other record-holders nationwide, including providers that are slow to respond or require non-standard authorization paperwork.
What happens if a provider is unresponsive or the case is unusual?
We keep following up and escalate, including additional calls, updated authorizations, alternate contacts at the facility, and involving management, rather than closing the request out as a dead end.

Demand Writing & Mediation Briefs

What's included in a demand package?
A liability summary, chronological medical treatment history, itemized billing summary, and a general-damages narrative, all assembled into one document an adjuster can evaluate without ambiguity.
Do you catch gaps or inconsistencies in the file?
Yes. As we write the demand, we identify missing records, gaps in treatment, or inconsistencies that would weaken it, and flag them to you so they can be fixed before you submit to the insurance company or third-party claim administrator.
Can you handle high-volume or overflow demand work?
Yes. Whether it's one demand or a backlog, the process scales without a drop in quality.
How long does a demand take?
Typically 3–5 business days for a standard demand package.

New Client Sign-Ups

How quickly can intake be completed?
Typically 2–24 hours, in person or electronically, including sign-ups that come in at 9 p.m. after a new case walks in. We work around when the client is available, not standard business hours.
What makes your intake different?
Every sign-up comes back complete and consistent: intake questionnaire, dermatome injury map, TBI questionnaire, and organized evidence and insurance information, ready to drop into the matter.
Do you offer intake in languages other than English?
Yes. We specialize in Spanish and English intakes, and we can accommodate any language your client needs.
How does in-person, on-site sign-up coverage work?
We schedule around your client's availability. We cover all of California and Arizona within 2–24 hours, and other states may take a little longer. Electronic sign-ups are completed in 2 hours or less when the client is available.

Security & Compliance

Do you follow HIPAA guidelines?
Yes. All records and client data move through secure, HIPAA-compliant systems, and nothing is emailed as an attachment or delivered through this website. Access is limited to the staff working your file.
What happens to our files and records after a case closes?
Every file belongs to your firm. Once the matter is complete and the work product has been delivered, we keep records only as long as needed to support your firm, then securely delete them from our HIPAA-compliant systems. We never retain client data longer than necessary, access stays limited to the staff who worked the file, and we follow any retention or destruction schedule your firm requires.
